  2. The Bible says we are sheep. In what ways are we like sheep? (Bonus points for citing the appropriate Bible verses!)

  3. Tell of a time you knew you heard the voice of the Shepherd. What did He say? How did He speak? How did you know it was Jesus (and not just your own imagination)?

  4. How would you respond to a friend, whom you believe is born again, who says, “I don't think Jesus has ever spoken to me.”

When You've Failed.

We Have 3 Options When We Fail: (Judges 16:23-31):

The Process of Restoration:

  1. God brings Discipline (Not punishment).
  2. Discipline brings Heart-change.
  3. Heart-change brings deeper Commitment.

    Psalm 119:67 - Before I was afflicted I went astray, but now I keep your word.

  4. Deeper Commitment brings new Opportunities.

Introduction:

When You Fall to Temptation (Judges 16:1-22):

  1. You didn't recognize your sin Tendency . (Judges 16:1-3)
  2. You flirted instead of Fled . (Judges 16:4-20)

    Proverbs 16:18 - Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.

    1 Cor 6:18 - Flee from sexual immorality.

    1 Cor 10:14 - Therefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry.

    2 Tim 2:22 - So flee youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace...

    1 Tim 6:9,11 - (6:9 = temptation to love money) But as for you, O man of God, flee these things...

    1 Cor 10:13 - No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.

  1. You end up a Slave .(Judges 16:21)
  2. You aren't Abandoned by God. (Judges 16:22)

    Matthew 6:13 - And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
