Like Israel in Micah’s day, we live in a nation that is facing God’s judgment. But God’s ultimate goal is to restore His people. What do we do in the meantime? Believe.

It’s the only thing God has ever asked of His people. Not to explain Him. Not to defend Him…

Believe Him.

It’s the message from every spokesman of God, including our Lord Himself: Repent.

Now is the time to change some things. Like, really, actually change some things.

I’m done with this sin. It’s over. It doesn’t honor God, it hurts me, it ruins my relationships. I am done.

Our nation needs to repent - but we individually need to repent.

We all need a little hope. It doesn’t come from “positive vibes” or “good thoughts”.

Hope came from a little obscure town called Bethlehem.

But if you are just expecting a story about a baby in a manger, Micah goes way beyond that. This King from Bethlehem will rule the world.

And we Worship Him.

Some people call it “Karma”. Some use the expression “what goes around comes around”. The Bible says “you reap what you sow.”

Micah gives Israel, and us, a wake up call. God will not allow sin to go on indefinitely. Whether that’s in your nation or in your heart, you will reap what you sow. We had better Wake Up.
