Jesus fulfilled this Word: He’s hated without cause. And before you shrug that off as “awww too bad for Jesus” - please note that He promised that if you belong to Him, the world will hate you, too.

“What a friend we have in Jesus…” remember that old song? It’s much more than sentimentality. Jesus literally said He calls us His friends. You think you have some great friends? What about Jesus? Does He call you friend? Join us this Sunday!

John 12:44-50 sort of sums up everything Jesus said during His ministry. So if these are the "high points", we had better pay close attention to every single Word of God.

Centuries before Jesus was rejected by Israel, Isaiah the prophet said the Messiah would be rejected by Israel. He specifically says “God blinded their eyes and hardened their hearts…” (John 12:40)

So it’s God’s fault when people reject Jesus? How can this be?! I thought God loved people and wanted them saved?

So much of the Gospel is contrary to natural human thinking. Life comes from death. Loving your life means losing it. Hating your life means keeping it.

In response to the Triumphal Entry, Jesus lays down some hard truths. Following Jesus costs you nothing, but it costs you everything.

John chapters 5-12 have seen repeated waves of opposition against Jesus. How could He possibly succeed when so many powerful people wanted Him dead? But Jesus’ “Triumphal Entry” into Jerusalem was only the beginning of the events that led to His ultimate victory. Knowing Jesus means knowing that, no matter how things look in the moment, He will triumph - and so will the citizens of His Kingdom.

We are moving from knowing about Jesus to knowing Jesus. And the way we know Him is through His Word.

The only way you will ever truly know Jesus personally is if you embrace His “value” - recognizing what He is worth, and embracing what He is worth to you. Do you value Jesus? Or do you merely pretend to? John 12 will give us a reflection of our hearts. Join us!
