From "a murderer" to "a god" in one easy snakebite.

Join us Sunday for part 1 of 2 of Acts 28 - our final two message from Acts! First up: Paul goes from being disdained as a murderer to being lauded as a god, and all he had to do was get accidentally bitten by a snake. It's a crazy story, but we are kind of used to that by this point in Acts, right?

We will be receiving the Lord's Supper together during worship.

Life is Often Out of Control - But God is Always in Total Control.

Paul was in a situation that could NOT have looked more out of control from human eyes. He was a prisoner... on a boat.. in a life-threatening storm... that wrecks... so the soldiers decide to kill all the prisoners... and that included Paul. BUT GOD made a promise, and Paul shows us how to be fearless by trusting the God who is always in total control.

Are you in a situation beyond your control? Whether it's due to someone else's bad choices, bad news on a health diagnosis, or a financial crisis... we often find ourselves victims of circumstances that we can do nothing about. So how do we have fearless faith in these times?

Join us this Sunday at 10am for Part 2 of I Will Not Fear the Storm.

God is sovereign. This is true on a cosmic, universal scale for sure. But this is also true in every single event in your life. God has a way of getting things done using people and situations we would never have imagined. And when you truly understand that, you will be fearless - bold as a lion!

Who are you afraid of? The All-Mighty or the Not-Mighty?

  • Harvest Bible Chapel Pittsburgh North (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

In this corner, you have the Sovereign, All-Mighty God of the universe. And in this corner, you have man, a weak and limited part of God's creation. Which one should you fear? Surprisingly, most people choose to fear man over God. And it's terrible trap to walk into, because the fear of man brings a snare (Proverbs 29:25). Why do so many people get mixed-up on this? And how can you avoid such a foolish mistake? Join us Sunday!

Choose to Be Fearless by Choosing to Be... Humble?

  • Harvest Bible Chapel Pittsburgh North (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

The path of righteousness, which is the path of bold fearlessness (Proverbs 28:1), demands humility. If you exalt yourself, you'll be humbled. But if you humble yourself, you'll be exalted. And there is no fear in the heart of one who walks humbly before the Lord. What does that look like? Join us this Sunday!

"The Holy Spirit told me to tell you this..."

Ever have someone say that to you? Sometimes it is true - and often it isn't. And Sunday we will see how Paul responds to people saying this to him, to try to talk him OUT of what the Holy Spirit is leading him IN.

How can I live my convictions when people, even well-intentioned people, try to talk me out of it? It has to do with "fearing God rather than man". But that's all I am going to say here. Join us Sunday for the rest.

An End of an Era

This is our LAST service at Marshall Middle School.

Following Jesus costs you nothing, but it costs you everything. There is a cost, there is something to give up, something to lose... and if you aren't ready to abandon some things, you aren't ready to follow Jesus. Come and discover how God's Word calls you to give up all you have to receive all He has to give!

AND ALSO: Moment of silence... This will be our last Sunday Service at Marshall Middle School, which has been our home since launch. God has done so much in and through our church in MMS since October 2, 2011, and we are thankful to have been able to use this facility.

Join us for Acts 19:11-20 and one last trip to school...

*This service will be in the Marshall Middle School Cafeteria, so please follow traffic directors and park on the far side of the school.

What Do I Do With People Who Constantly Reject the Gospel?

We've all been there. We share the Gospel with someone and we witness and invite them to church and we pray for them... but they are either not interested or they become hostile/mocking! How do we know when to persist and when to give up? Join us for Acts 19:1-10.

Idols and Ignorance and Intellectualism...

Worshiping meaningless things while not having a clue what the Living God is like. All the while pretending to be "enlightened".

Am I referring to Acts 17 or America '17? The answer is yes.

Will God's Word have the answers and power for us today as it did for Paul then? The answer, again, is yes.

Join us Sunday. Marshall Middle School. 10AM.

Don't Just Take My Word for It.

We live in a day when tolerance, open-mindedness, and peace are often exalted but rarely practiced. This was certainly the case in Paul's day. So how refreshing to encounter a group of people who actually heard him out... and honestly look into what he was preaching!

Any time you hear someone say, "The Bible says..." - you can fact-check that claim by checking into the Bible yourself! Let's learn a little Berean nobility together this Sunday in the book of Acts!

God, I will do whatever you want but sometimes I am not sure what that is.

Does God's Holy Spirit guide you? Sometimes, we struggle with "am I sure He is guiding me, or are these just my own thoughts?" This Sunday, we will be looking at how God's Spirit gives guidance. Is there anything you could want more, than to know you are following where Almighty God is leading you?

Join us this Sunday for Acts 16:1-10! After being joined by Timothy, Paul and Silas were steered away twice from regions where they wanted to spread the Gospel. This might seem counterproductive but it wasn’t part of God’s plan. God then sent a vision to tell them exactly where to go. We might not see visions or hear God’s voice directly, but He will put us where He wants us. We can always rely upon the Holy Spirit and prayer for everyday guidance.

Unstoppable in Unity

God made man in His image (Genesis 1:27) but like a clay pot, each of us are unique in his or her own way (Isaiah 64:8). With so many differences in physical stature, upbringings and minds, it’s wonderful we can be united around the eternal truth in Christ as our Lord and Savior! This week, the early church comes together to discuss a matter about Gentile believers and an outward sign Jews had been accustomed to doing. They find God always had a plan for the Gentiles too. His salvation is a heart change from the inside.

Come and join us this week to hear about God's plan for you and your unique stature, upbringing, and mind!

Unstoppable Against Ignorance

The Good News of salvation through Jesus Christ is one God made to be easily understood. Despite bias, traditions and predispositions, the Gospel message speaks directly to the heart of every person who hears it. Even when not fully comprehended, we can see God doing amazing works in the lives of all people. Have you ever reflected on past victories and good times and seen God in your life? This week, Paul and Barnabas travel to Iconium and Lystra to share the work of Christ. Although the people might not know it, God has been preparing them for this encounter. Join us to hear this life changing work!

Unstoppable Against Persecution

Persecution comes in many forms and degrees. Despite facing stiff opposition and those trying to undermine the Gospel, Paul and Barnabas are still able to share the Good News in Antioch with the Gentiles. Isaiah 55:11 tells us:

“so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.”

Paul and Barnabas don’t always win over everyone, but God’s promise is always fulfilled when His word is shared. That promise still holds true today with us! Be bold and know that God’s word will always flourish.

Man versus God

Execution. Angelic visitation. Prison break. A man devoured by worms. Acts 12 is a chapter in your Bible recording some crazy history.

But it has one main point you don’t dare miss: Do. Not. Mess. With. God. Not ever. It’s a terrible idea.

Bring someone you know who might be open to listening to the biggest wakeup call we can give.

The Kingdom Advances!

It's amazing watching the kingdom of God advance in the pages of the Bible as we watch it advance right before our eyes today!

Join us Sunday at Marshall Middle School for Acts 11 as we see the church continue to reach the Gentiles, Barnabas up to his usual (amazing) ministry business, and Saul makes his return to the pages of Scripture!

And through it all - God is at work transforming lives and changing the world.

The Power of Meeting Christ

God Specializes in Saving Sinners.

Too many people feel like they've "done too many wrong things" to be saved. In God's Word, we have a testimony that stands forever that God's grace is greater than any sin. God took a man whose life mission was to destroy the church and kill Christians... and God turned this man into the greatest missionary and church planter of all time.

Join us this Sunday as Pastor Jeff brings one of God’s most powerful and impactful heart conversions in the New Testament. The miraculous conversion of Saul is a perfect showcase of God’s sovereignty, mercy, and grace. No matter what you've done, God's grace is greater than your sin, and He invites you to come to Him.

The Man Who Got It All Wrong About Jesus.

The Bible says many people think they are saved and heading to heaven, but they are really self-deceived. Are you ready to examine yourself? You don't want to roll the dice on this - it's the most important thing in your life!

Join us Sunday as we study the life of a man who was extremely fascinating - but extremely wrong about everything concerning salvation! Acts 8:9-25 will be our focus. There is a lesson here for all of us.
